To configure inputs and outputs, open the slot manager

Open Slot Manager
Inputs
Inputs represent one camera of your setup and are the base of an input slot. They define the attached grading device as well as the image and metadata source for an input slot.
Use the + and – buttons on the bottom left to add or delete input slots.

Slot Manager Inputs
Within an input you will find two sections
- Grading Devices: This section contains devices that can be graded, such as LUT boxes. Click on + Add Device to add a new grading device to the slot.
- Image and Metadata: In this section you can choose your image and metadata Source. This could be either
- a frame grab provided by your LUT box or
- an image stream provided by a capture device
Tip: If you don’t have a LUT box or capture device at hand, you can use a webcam as an image source for your slot. You could even connect a second webcam to your computer if you want to simulate a two-camera setup.
After selecting an available image source for your slots, you should see the image within the slot preview in your main screen.

Slot types
After you configured your inputs and outputs, let’s get a quick overview of the different types of grading slots in Livegrade 7.

Slot Types
Input slots represent one camera of your setup. They have two modes:
- Live: shows the attached live image source (image stream or frame grab), adjusts an attached grading device, and fills the upcoming clip or still shot with data entered by global and slot metadata fields.
- Playback: shows a shot from the library. Can be used for playback and re-grading of a clip or a still.
Library Slots represent a shot of your library. Can be used for reference(s) and re-grading of a clip or a still.
Temporary Slots represent a shot of your library which is currently loaded in the viewer. Can be used for references and re-grading of a clip or a still.
